Stuart Mills - Like The Wind Magazine ContributorA keen a runner for many years Stuart first started running at Hutt Valley Harriers in 1977 at the age of 14. Hutt Valley Harriers was based at Naenae (his home village, well not quite a village!), Lower Hutt, just a few miles from Wellington, the capital of New Zealand. Hutt Valley Harriers is famous for it’s bright orange running vest (singlet – NZ translation!) and for Jono Wyatt, multiple world mountain running champion, as well as many other famous people.

During the 80’s Stuart got into multisport, then cycling, before becoming an Ironman in the 90’s. Then he discovered trail marathons in 2001, and finally became an Ultra Runner in 2008. Stuart now describes himself as ‘addicted’, having completed nine Ultras when starting his blog in March 2010.

You can read Stuart’s article, First Marathon, on page 58 in our very first Issue of Like the Wind.
