How often and where do you run?
Currently, I am in peak marathon training, so I am running 5 days/week. Living as a digital nomad allows me to run in places around the world. Last month I was running along the Toronto lakefront, this month the Tenerife coast, and next month Cape Town promenade.
What first got you into running?
I first got into running when I realized my casual runs were nearly a 5K in distance, so signing up for my first race became the perfect way to test myself. Pairing that challenge with the opportunity to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association gave me a deeper purpose and motivation to run.
Why do you keep running now?
I keep running because it’s given me both passion and purpose. Beyond the physical and mental benefits, running is my way to continually challenge myself and discover what I’m capable of. It’s also become my favorite way to explore new cities, every run feels like a new adventure.
Do you run with others or solo?
I run solo because running is something I do purely for me. It’s not about competing, keeping up with anyone else, or meeting outside expectations – it’s my time to recharge, clear my head, and reconnect with myself. Running alone gives me the freedom to set my own pace, listen to my body, and let my mind wander. It’s a way to both escape and refuel, while challenging my own limits and striving to see how far I can go.
Any rituals, gear, or quirks?
The night before every race and long run, I organize and line up all my kit, gear, and supplements. It’s a ritual that calms my nerves, relieves stress, and mentally locks me into race-day / long-run mode.

Is there a specific run or running moment that stands out to you?
A specific run that stands out was the Chicago Marathon. My first marathon in the city where I am from – this run not only challenged me physically, but also proved that I could push beyond limits I once thought impossible, transforming months of training into a defining milestone.
A running moment I will never forget came when I stepped on to the Cape Town promenade for my first run after leaving my hometown and family to begin my digital nomad journey. The moment grounded me with a sense of comfort and familiarity, confirming no regrets venturing into this next chapter.
How does running fit into the rest of your life?
Running ties together so many parts of my life. It keeps me grounded when work or my personal life gets hectic, gives me structure in my days, and reminds me to put my health first. It’s also my outlet to process thoughts, recharge mentally, and come back with a more positive outlook. Whether I’m training for a marathon or just going out for a short run, it’s the consistency that balances me.
What runner would you love to hear answer this series next?
I’d love to hear from runners in developing countries where access to gear, races, and support isn’t guaranteed. Their resilience and motivation to run despite challenges would be inspiring.
