I’ve been lucky to see a lot of epic views, but this shot in the Lake District is a nice momento from my time living there (credit to Alexis Berg).
How often and where do you run?
I run most days, usually on trails and in the hills/mountains, but also venture onto tarmac for specific sessions. I like my local routes, but regularly get out to new or favourite places.
What first got you into running?
We did a lot of family walks when I was a kid, and I soon started to find it too slow, so I would run back and forth, touching the summits before my parents got there before returning to them to tell them what it was like.
My older sister also inspired me to do more trail/hill running – anything she did I would also try!
Why do you keep running now?
Running helps me find my potential, but more than that, it helps me feel right within myself. I love that running is a way to explore new places too.
Do you run with others or solo?
A mixture – I don’t mind either!
Any rituals, gear, or quirks?
Not especially. I had a few when I was younger, but I found it sometimes created more stress. The only thing I’m still particular about is that my race number is straight.
Is there a specific run or running moment that stands out to you?
Topping out on a ridgeline high in the Chilean Andes with a friend, Condors circling above us, is pretty memorable. In terms of racing, winning the European Mountain Running Championships in 2019, and taking the team title too with some good friends, was a special moment as well.
How does running fit into the rest of your life?
It’s quite a big part of it as I’m a sponsored athlete, but I like running lots so that’s handy!
What runner would you love to hear answer this series next?
The next person! I think any runner can have as interesting a story as another.
